Hockey,
for every kid.
Free ice, gear, and coaching for Wisconsin youth, most of whom have never had the chance to step onto the rink.
Break the Ice makes hockey accessible by removing the barriers that keep kids off the rink: the cost of ice, gear, and instruction.
Founded by high school players, we give underserved youth across Milwaukee and Ozaukee County free, beginner-friendly events where they build confidence, belonging, and a love of the game, on and off the ice.
What the ice
means to them.

Break the Ice began with two high school student-athletes and one belief: that no kid should be kept off the ice by the cost of gear, ice time, or coaching. Their shared passion for hockey has grown into a program that breaks down those barriers and gives every kid the chance to feel the confidence, belonging, and joy the game first gave them.
